Dischidia nummularia

 

Family: Apocynaceae

 

Dischidia nummularia is an epiphytic, creeping succulent plant native to South East Asia where it grows in dense clumps on trees. It requires very little water so is a very easy plant to grow. Small round leaves that grow up to 1cm give it the name String of Nickels.

Vine will grow continuously, up to 3m. Leaves 1cm.
Likes a drier soil and reasonable humidity.
Bright, indirect light. Avoid too much direct sun. Will tolerate low light.
Fast draining soil that does not hold water or grow mounted as an epiphyte.
