Pet Safe House Plants

If your dog, cat, rabbit, or even child is prone to munching on your house plants you need to know which indoor plants are non toxic and safe for pets and children.

Some non toxic indoor plants that are safe for children and pets are Peperomia, Prayer plants, Bromeliads...

Aroids should be avoided as they contain calcium oxalate crystals and other compounds that can cause severe irritation in some animals. Ficus are another popular house plant that has sap that is an irritant and should also be avoided.

The ASPCA have a searchable database of plants non toxic/toxic to pets. This is a great resource to check if a specific plant is poisonous or safe for animals.
