The dried seed pods of the lotus flower, Nelumbo nucifera. These seed pods make fantastic bioactive terrarium decor and the best thing about them is that isopods absolutely love hanging out in them.
Lotus flowers can be found growing on the flood plains of slow moving rivers and delta areas throughout southern India, Sri Lanka, southeast Asia, New Guinea and northern and eastern Australia. Lotus flower seed pod heads are very durable and last a long time when dried making a highly decorative addition to bioactive terrarium set ups.
