Prayer plants originate in the tropical rainforest regions of Brazil. Maranta leuconeura is most recognisable from its prominent pinky red veins and dark foliage. Like all prayer plants it’s leaves fold and raise up at night. One of the smaller species of  prayer plants so good for planting in a reasonable sized terrarium / vivarium.

Often called Maranta ‘Fascinator’.

Grows up to 30cm. Leaves 10cm.
Water and mist enough to maintain a moderately moist soil and humid environment.
Low – medium light levels avoiding direct sun. More shade generally gives a more vibrant colour.
Prefers a soil that is well draining and rich in organic matter.
