This variegated bromeliad is endemic to Brazil where it can be found growing as an epiphyte and lithopohyte. Bromeliads play an important part in rainforest ecology that is replicated in vivariums and provide a place for dart frogs to lay their eggs and raise tadpoles. Small purple flowers form in the tank after which the plant will produce offsets and develop into a cluster of plants.

Grows up to
Bromeliads should have a small amount of water in the tank and between leaves. Soil does not need to be wet but should not be allowed to dry out.
Bright, indirect light. More light will cause plant to colour up more.
Well draining soil, we recommend addition of perlite and/or bark chip.

We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-3 days of receiving payment.


Plants are dispatched Monday – Thursday to avoid any weekend delays.
