Family: Araceae (Aroids)
Philodendron squamiferum can be found climbing trees throughout much of the Amazon rainforest. In an indoor environment it is best grown potted with support to climb up. As it matures the leaves grow larger and stems more woody. Philodendron squamiferum has sturdy, red petioles with fuzzy white – green hairs.
Will continue to climb when given support. Leaves grow to 30cm at maturity.
Somewhat moist soil being allowed to dry a little between watering. Grows better with reasonable humidity.
Bright, indirect light. Avoid too much direct sun.
Requires a loose, free draining soil. We recommend our tropical potting mix.
