Family: Acanthaceae

 

Alternanthra dentata is a colourful ground cover plant native to the West Indies and Brasil. It provides a bright contrast among other plants and is an easy grower as long as not left to dry out.

 

6cm pot.

Can grow 60-80cm, prune to desired height.
Appreciates a moist soil and reasonable humidity.
Part shade – some sun, will tolerate more sun as it matures.
Well draining soil rich in organic matter.
